Kaylynn's Room

Before
This was Kaylynn's room before. The headboard Lori and I stole out of a Down East dumpster. It was lots of fun! It had a big gash in the back but you can't see it. I sold it on KSL for $50!

These are the after pictures. We did an orange sherbet on the wall. It is kind of hard to tell what color it is. The headboard we got from a Downeast clearance store. I got some soft fuzzy material at 75% off from Hancock Fabrics to recover it. The curtains were made out of $1 material from Wal-mart tied back with ribbon. The quilt was from The Quilt Shop in Gardner Village. I had a $25 off coupon and then they gave me $25 off because I filled all the punches for a punch card and then $25 more off for a little stain on it and it was on sale. It was a great deal. Her bedroom furniture I got on KSL for $50. I got the chandelier for $15 and painted it white. I decorated the lamp shades with some fringe/tassel stuff from Hobby Lobby.
These decorative balls are made out of flowers and were from Wal-Mart. I got some craft paint and painted them in colors that matched her room.

Lori and I made these out of bead board. I love thinking of new ways to display pictures of my kids. You can never have enough pictures!
The quilt shop also gave me the girl statue for free for buying a quilt that day. I made the little skirt on her. Kaylynn keeps asking me when I am going to make her a head.
On the nightstands I tried to use things we already had. The lamps I got at Wal-Mart. I decided I was going to return them. When I did the lady said because I had my receipt I could get my full refund, but that they were on clearance for $2 a piece. I returned them for full price and bought them for $2. The jewelry box I got for a dollar from a garage sale. It had ugly material in it so I took that out and put in paper that matched the room. I painted the baskets pink to match. I love painting things.
This window Lori got from a lady moving out of the country. She had tons of old windows from a museum in down town Salt Lake. You can't really see in the picture but the glass has cut flowers in it. It's awesome!
The lantern was a garage sale find for $1.

Natalie's Room

I did Natalie's room before I was even pregnant with her. I get very sick when I am pregnant so Lori came up and helped me paint stuff. We did it all in brown and cream. That way if I had a boy we would add blue. If I had a girl we would add pink. I started out by painting one wall brown and the other furniture brown to match. We spray painted the crib cream and the other 3 walls to match the crib. I wish I had before pictures. It was just a white room and all the furniture was oak. This picture I took when Natalie was still in her crib. Now she is in this toddler bed. I made her the quilt. The bed skirt I made out of tulle. Their is this store called Ty Imports that sells tulle in 6" or 12" rolls. They have every color you could imagine. It was nice not cutting all that material. The chair was from TJMaxx/Homegoods. Love that store! This is also a fun way to display pictures. That way you don't have tons of pictures all over the place. I got a poster frame and painted it brown. I arranged the pictures the way I wanted them and made a border with ribbon. My kids love looking at them and so do I!
These were from Tia Pan Trading at the tent sale. I can't remember how much they were but they were a great price.

These you can find in many decorating stores. I think I got this one at Rod Works.
This picture is from IKEA. Lori and I stood in line the day they opened and got gift cards. It was like the day after Thanksgiving sales but in the summer. Most of the things in this picture were from Hobby Lobby.
